Western Cape Club Championships 2021

On the 15th of October 2021, the Western Cape Club Championships took place at the Wilderness Hotel in Eden over the course of three days. The tournament consisted of an A, B and C section with various clubs from all over the Western Cape competing in this prestigeous event. The Hermanus Chess Club was represented by our junior team in the C section and our senior team in the A section. Tournament format was a 6 round swiss with 60/60 + 5 second increment time control.

The A section consisted of 14 teams from across the Western Cape and C section consisted of 8.

After many tough matches in both the A and C section, the final standings are as follows:

  • Hermanus Junior team place 7th out of 8 teams in the C section
  • Hermanus Senior team placed 6th out of 14 teams in the A section
