On the 14th of May 2022, the Overberg Chess Federation hosted their second rapid event for 2022. The tournament took place at Curro Hermanus, and was well attended with more than 120 players coming from as far as Cape Town. Tournament consisted of an U/8, U/10, U/14, U/16 and Open section.

Many of our local players from the Hermanus Chess Club participated and did extremely well. There was also a lucky draw during the prize giving with two players winning a brand new chess set. A huge thank you to the organizers for arranging a fantastic tournament with a successful turnout. We hope to see you all back in Hermanus very soon.
